Jaden Ransley eighth in Toyota 86 Racing Series final

Toyota 86 Championship runner-up has claimed eighth in the final Toyota 86 Racing Series race at Mount Panorama.

After all the drama of Race 2 that saw fellow countryman Peter Vodanovich barrel roll, Ransley lined up from fifth on the road for Race 3.

Initially, it was Aaron Borg who led Luke King, Luke van Herwaard, Dylan Thomas and Ransley to Hell Corner.

Ransley looked quick but got dispatched by Jaylyn Robotham and fast starter Ben Grice down at The Chase. The Kiwi fell back and was soon battling to hold on to seventh.

The battle for the lead intensified and the lead pack grew as Ransley caught back up to the back. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make any headway.

King briefly got into the lead, but Borg got back by and never looked back. King was left to battle with Grice who managed to get by on the final lap.

Thomas and Robothom were fourth and fifth respectively. A strong run by Zane Morse saw him up to sixth having gotten by Ransley and van Herwaarde late in the race. Ransley went side-by-side with van Herwaarde to the checkered flag but narrowly missed out on seventh-place by one-hundredth of a second. John Iafolla and Lachlan Gibbons completed the top 10.

Andrew Jackson was down in 26th out of 33 cars.
