Hayden Paddon confirms depleted seven-round 2018 WRC season

Hayden Paddon's rallying schedule for the 2018 World Rally Championship has been revealed overnight.

The Kiwi will compete in seven rounds of the 13-round WRC calendar, as he rotates the seat in the third of the team's i20 machines with Spaniard Dani Sordo.

Paddon's season will begin at Rally Sweden (round 2). He will then be sidelined until Mat's Rally Portugal event. Inclusions at Rally Sardenga and Rally Finland give him three events in a row, before another break.

He'll rejoin the team at Rally Turkey in September, before rounding out the season at Rally Great Britain and the season finale Rally Australia.

“Obviously we would prefer a full season, but we have seven strong rallies ahead to make the most of each opportunity and give it everything,” said Paddon.

“We will also compete in an expanded NZ program and some other individual events to stay competition fit throughout the year.”
