Ryan Hansford in the #6 Torana has taken pole position for race one of the Australian Touring Car Masters from the SuperLoop Adelaide 500.
Adam Garwood will join Hansford on the front row in the 1970 Chevy Camaro, the pair separated by some four-tenths.
The 20-minute session ran without any trouble with all 19 cars respecting the narrow walls of the Adelaide Street Circuit.
Though Jim Pollicina flirted with the infamous Turn 8 getting the rear of his Torana sliding out to with millimetres of the wall.
Crowd favourite Steven Johnson’s Ford Falcon XD tribute dubbed ‘New Tru-Blu’, had a rather troubled session with mechanical issues, ultimately qualifying last on the grid.
The car, which pays homage to Dick Johnson and his 1981 Australian Touring Car Championship winner, will race in the Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters this season.
Nonetheless, the car will be out in full-force tomorrow for the 10-lap Trophy Race from 2.15 NZT.
