Track Tec Racing has confirmed former Toyota 86 Championship winner Jack Milligan will join the TCR Asia Pacific Cup field this year.
Set to take place at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, the team has so far confirmed two Audi RS 3 LMS TCR cars will contest the non-championship event. Stan van Oord of the Netherlands will also race for the Cromwell-based team.
Milligan recently made his TCR debut at Highlands Motorsport Park with Track Tec Racing. However, the Australian Grand Prix meeting will mark his first race in an officially sanctioned TCR event.
Now 23 years old, Milligan has his eyes on racing in Australia as well as New Zealand in their respective TCR championships.
“For the first event held at Melbourne, my main goal is to be inside the top 10 and then we will work forward from there,” Milligan said.
“My mindset is to be positive and take it all as it comes. Having such a great team like Track Tec Racing behind me has already been great so far. I just want to provide great results for the team and make a name for ourselves over there.
“Performing in front of big teams at the Grand Prix is also going to be a big thing and something that will definitely be on my mind leading up to the event.
“I’m really looking forward to grabbing this opportunity with both hands and really show what I’m capable of. Coming from a saloon car and GT3 background, I’m up for the new challenge of the front-wheel-drive Track Tec Racing Audi.”
The Australian Grand Prix takes place at the Albert Park Street Circuit over 13-15 March.
