After achieving a class podium finish in the previous year’s Bathurst 6 Hour event, 11 Racing will be doubling its car line up with the aim of a class victory in the forthcoming race in April.
In the previous year’s attempt, racing brothers Murray and Graeme Dowsett teamed up with Italian sports car ace Davide Rizzo for their debut run in the 6 Hour event at Mount Panorama Circuit. Their race pace and car preparation contributed to their podium position.
Looking to build on that success, 11 Racing will retain the driver line-up of the Dowsett brothers and Rizzo in the Toyota 86, whilst a second car has been added to the roster. The drivers of the team’s second car include New Zealander Reid Harker and Brad McDonald and Malaysia’s Adrian D’Silva. 11 Racing are confident that they have two well-rounded and highly experienced driver line-ups that could muster a challenge for victory, with the target being a dual-podium finish.
Murray Dowsett is an experienced Australian production car racer, recently finishing third in both the Queensland Production Car Championship (in class) and the Massel Endurance Series. Brother Graeme has enjoyed success in sports car racing across the Asian continent, including the Sepang 12 Hour, Asian Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup titles. He has also achieved a podium finish at the Bathurst 12 Hour in class.
Speaking ahead of the event, Murray Dowsett commented 2019 was our first year at the mountain and the experience was a very important building block for all of us. Despite the best efforts of drivers and crew we suffered some mechanical trouble late in the race and dropped from 2nd to 3rd but proud of what we achieved first time out. We are coming back bigger and better in 2020 with a two car team focused on maximizing the success of both cars. We are proud to have five experienced and emerging international drivers and an outstanding pit crew who are up to the challenge that is Mount Panorama as well as new backing from our sponsors Diversion Garage and Completion Products.”
In the other entry, Reid Harker comes with a wealth of experience with the Toyota 86 race car. As well as this, he has previously competed in the Toyota Racing Series and will be driving in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia support race at the Vietnamese Grand Prix in April.
“I’m looking forward to jumping back into a Toyota 86 and really excited to get my first taste of Bathurst, a track I’ve always wanted to race on. I’m racing alongside a great bunch of guys so I’m sure we’ll have a blast!”said Harker.
