Shell V-Power Racing reveal Ford Mustangs for Kiwi duo

Shell V-Power Racing Team have revealed their liveries for the no.12 and no.17 Ford Mustangs set to be driven by Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin respectively.

DJR Team Penske were part of a 12-month joint development program between Ford Performance, Ford’s Asia-Pacific design studio and the Supercars Championship outfit.

McLaughlin goes into the 2019 edition of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship as the reigning title winner but will not carry the no.1 on his car.

"We’ve spent a lot of time developing this new car, and to now see it in Shell V-Power colours is awesome," McLaughlin said.

"It looks fast standing still, so I can’t wait to see how it performs on the streets of Adelaide in a couple of weeks."

The new look is relatively unchanged overprevious years. The car retains its red, white and yellow Shell colour scheme. 2019 marks the 52nd year between Dick Johnson

Shell V-Power Racing Team Managing Director Ryan Story said the mission to get the car ready was a big undertaking.

"We have worked tirelessly on the Mustang program over the last 12 months, and to get to this point, where we are revealing it in Shell V-Power colours is massively satisfying, and really get the blood pumping for the year ahead," he said

"We’re ecstatic with how the car has come together, and how it looks in our 2019 warpaint. We’ve brought on some fantastic new partners and are hopeful of continuing the success we’ve enjoyed in recent years."

Coulthard added: "I’ve been around the sport for a long time now, and I can’t remember a build-up to a season as big as this.

"We’ve got a fantastic new car, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel."

McLaughlin, Coulthard and the team will partake in pre-season testing at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit later this week on Thursday.
