WATCH: Luke Youlden suffers big shunt in co-driver practice

Penrite Racing driver Luke Youlden has suffered a session-ending crash in Thursday’s co-driver practice at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

Replays showed Youlden exit Metal Grate and understeer on approach to Sulman Park at high speed. The no. 9 Holden Commodore ZB slammed into the wall shy of the metal grate and ended up coming to a halt near McPhillamy Park.

The session was red-flagged with 40 minutes remaining. At the time of the incident, Youlden was ninth on a 2:07.6303, nine-tenths adrift of the top time set by Garth Tander.

“I’m not really sure what happened there,” Reynolds said.

“By the look of it, he just understeered into the fence. It happens around here, doesn’t it?

“Right now I have no information. He was probably going in too hot and made a mistake.”
