Alexandre Premat will join Tickford for the 2020 Pirtek Enduro Cup after been left out of a contract renewal with DJR Team Penske.

The Frenchman paired with Scott McLaughlin to win last year’s Bathurst 1000, albeit in a race shrouded with controversy.

Premat had been with DJR Team Penske as a co-driver since 2017.

Before his role within the Queensland-based team, Premat enjoyed a minor stint with Triple Eight as co-driver for Shane Van Gisbergen, as well as four seasons with Garry Rogers Motorsport – two of which were as full-time drives.

However, when DJR opted to sign Tim Slade as McLaughlin’s co-driver for 2020, Premat was left without many available options.

But a recent deal with Tickford Racing has given Premat the lifeline he needed to ensure the survival of his Supercars career.

While Premat has been confirmed to race for Tickford for the endurance season, the exact driver he will pair is yet to be decided.

Tickford’s 2020 driver lineup sees Cameron Waters promoted to team leader, while Will Davison remains in the 23Red entry, Lee Holdsworth will sport the #5 Truck Assist uniform and established newbie Jack Le Brocq will race in the Supercheap colours.

Expect Tickford to announce who exactly will pair their drivers for the endure rounds soon, all but confirming where Premat will slot his latest endeavour.

The first round of the 2020 Pirtek Enduro Cup will be The Bend 500 from Tailem Bend on September 20.
