Matt Stone Racing reveal 2020 livery

Matt Stone Racing today revealed their livery ahead of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship season.

The team will run a black and gold paint scheme with the youth-clothing brand UNIT set to play title sponsor for the entirety of 2020. UNIT was seen on occasion last season with MSR, though operating a more bright, colourful livery.

The #34 car revealed this morning will be piloted by Jake Kostecki and Zane Goddard. The Dunlop Super2 graduates will be sharing driving duties across all sprint events before teaming up for the enduros in an initiative umbrellaed as the ‘SuperLite’ scheme.

"We had a great year with MSR in 2019 and once we learned of the shared drive initiative with Zane and Jake on board, we were eager to get involved in a much bigger way,” said UNIT marketing manager Toby Lynch.

Kostecki finished fifth in 2019’s Super2 series whilst also making his Bathurst debut with Cousin Brodie. Goddard was a frequent front runner for all of last year’s junior development series, finishing fourth in the championship for MW Motorsport Nissan.

Team owner Matt Stone commented “UNIT is an exciting brand with masses of energy, we love the way they engage their market. They are exactly the partner we wanted to help showcase our youth development program.”

MSR’s shared car will be run alongside the team’s existing Triple-Eight prepared ZB Commodore, this year driven by Garry Jacobson. The team also farewell Todd Hazelwood who is signed for Brad Jones Racing in 2020.

Garry Jacobson’s car is set to be revealed later in the week, completing the line-up for MSR.
