WATCH: Hyundai ETCR sounds like something straight out of Star Wars

TCR as we know it has seen four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged terriers take touring car racing by storm.


As more manufacturers turn towards hybrid power or all-electric platforms, ETCR will combine the best of touring car racing and battery-powered race cars.


A handful of manufacturers have expressed their interest in ETCR with the likes of CUPRA (formerly SEAT) and Alfa Romeo committed to developing all-electric touring cars.


Now Hyundai has made the move with the Hyundai Veloster N ETCR, a rear-wheel-drive touring car for the future.
