The covers are off for the first of four Brad Jones Racing 2020 cars, with the unveiling of the Macauley Jones’ Team CoolDrive Commodore.
Jones sported the CoolDrive colours last season in what was undoubtedly a rough introduction for the 25-year-old.
Macauley Jones joins his father Brad’s renowned team in a four-car challenge which includes BJR faithful Nick Percat and newly signed full-time rookie Jack Smith. Todd Hazelwood has left Matt Stone Racing to make up the fourth BJR prepared car.
The #3 CoolDrive car has also made the notable change in driver number, previously running the #25 banner.
Team CoolDrive owner Tim Blanchard donned the #3 during his Australian and British Formula Ford days.
Blanchard commented after the car’s unveiling “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead. Seeing the resurrection of the #3 brings back a lot of awesome memories for me and as we head into what we are envisioning to be a highly results-focused year.”
2019 was a dogged year for Jones and Blanchard with the best result being a 15th at Queensland Raceway, finishing 21st in the standings.
2020 is a year in which both BJR and Team CoolDrive aim to target consistency in results.
“I feel like as a team we are stronger than ever and working through everything to go into 2020 as ready as we can,” said Macauley Jones.
“I’m focused on consistency throughout the year and putting what I have learnt last year into use so we can improve for the year ahead.”
