Red Bull Motorsports has released a behind-the-scenes look at Liam Lawson’s impressive rally debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed — and it’s a must-watch.
With no prior rally experience, the Kiwi F1 driver stunned spectators and legends alike by going third-fastest on the tight and technical Forest Rally Stage, piloting a Ford Puma Rally1 car just half a second off Travis Pastrana and ahead of WRC greats like Tänak, Rovanperä, and Latvala.
Co-driven by WRC star Josh McErlean, Lawson’s raw pace and adaptability had jaws on the floor, and the cameras captured it all.
🎬 Go behind the scenes as Lawson trades slicks for gravel and proves once again: he can drive anything when given the right car.

Another option if Racing Bull’s or Red Bull (post Max V), decide they’d prefer more European driver’s.
Was great to watch. A hidden talent for sure.
Awesome stuff!!! Maybe this could be a reality show where drivers of all kinds swap cars… Liam is a driving genius!
They should organize a competition between Liam and SVG who has scored points in a World Rally championship.
SVG could beat you on a unicycle with a wheel missing!
Ahhh so maybe the true world champion should be one who can drive and win in multiple types of cars and situations!
I see a really good Lawson/Paddon crossover in the future. Bit of open wheel at Highlands, bit of gravel racing at Tarras
