Jaxon Evans and Brad Jones Racing to part ways after 2025 Supercars season

SCT Motorsport has confirmed that Jaxon Evans will leave the team at the conclusion of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, ending a four-year association with the Brad Jones Racing-linked outfit.

The New Zealander first linked with SCT in 2022 as Jack Smith’s endurance co-driver, impressing with a string of strong performances before stepping into a full-time role in the #12 Camaro last season.

Evans arrived with an extensive international résumé, including multiple Porsche titles and factory driver status in Europe, bringing valuable technical knowledge and professionalism to the Albury-based squad.

During his time with the team, Evans played a central role in SCT Motorsport’s development, both on and off the track. That contribution was highlighted in a joint statement from SCT Motorsport and Andrew Jones, Head of Motorsport Programs at SCT Logistics.

“Jaxon has been an incredible contributor to this team during the past three and a half years, firstly as a co-driver and now as the lead driver,” Jones said.

“His ability and talent in a race car are world-class, and combined with the way he connects with people, he has been instrumental in the progress SCT Motorsport has made. On behalf of everyone in our group, I’d like to thank Jaxon for his efforts and wish him nothing but success in the future.”

Evans reflected positively on his Supercars journey, acknowledging SCT’s backing since his debut.

“I’m extremely grateful to SCT Logistics and the Smith family for giving me the chance to compete full-time in Supercars. The experiences and lessons I’ve gained throughout this journey are ones I’ll take with me throughout my career,” he said.

While Evans showed competitive flashes across 2025 – including being in contention for a Finals berth mid-season – a difficult run of DNFs, notably a heavy incident in Darwin, ultimately derailed his campaign.

Outside Supercars, he has continued to shine, currently leading the GT World Challenge Australia standings with Arise Racing and Ferrari, leaving him well-placed to add another national title to his résumé.

The split comes amid a significant reshuffle at Brad Jones Racing as the team prepares for its transition from General Motors to Toyota machinery in 2026.

With Bryce Fullwood’s departure already confirmed and Cameron Hill signed as his replacement, Evans’ exit means SCT will now be the final piece of the Toyota puzzle for next year.

Andre Heimgartner remains under contract, while Macauley Jones has been retained. Rising star Zach Bates – the reigning Super2 champion with strong Toyota ties – has been linked as a frontrunner for the SCT seat.

Evans will complete his Supercars campaign with SCT at next month’s Bathurst 1000, held October 9-12, before turning his focus to the next chapter of his racing career.
