KartSport New Zealand is proud to announce that Zach Tucker and Tommy Hart have been selected to represent New Zealand at the first-ever FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup, taking place at the LYL International Karting Circuit in Malaysia, from 14–16 November 2025.
The event marks a significant milestone in the delivery of the FIA’s Global Karting Plan. Its innovative Arrive and Drive format ensures all competitors race in identical, standardised karts supplied by the OTK Group, eliminating technical and financial disparities and allowing driving talent to take centre stage.
Designed to boost grassroots participation and accessibility in motorsport, the World Cup has attracted strong global interest through an entry process that saw national sporting authorities (ASNs) nominate drivers, demand quickly exceeded capacity, and both classes filled quickly.
A total of 54 grid spots in each category — Junior (ages 12–14) and Senior (ages 14–19) — have now been filled. Successful applicants, including New Zealand’s Tucker and Hart, will compete against the next generation of world karting talent, reinforcing the FIA’s commitment to inclusive and accessible competition.
Zach Tucker:
“I am very grateful to have this opportunity to compete on the world stage. I feel my racing to date in NZ and Australia has helped me prepare for this massive opportunity. A huge thanks to the KSNZ Academy and all of the Academy Sponsors as well as everyone that has helped me fund raise to make the trip. I cannot wait.”

Tommy Hart:
“I am very proud to be representing New Zealand at the first-ever Arrive and Drive World Cup. I’m really excited to try out a new track in a new part of the world I haven’t raced before.”

Both drivers were chosen by the KartSport New Zealand Academy coaches and KartSport New Zealand board, which continues to identify and support New Zealand’s most promising young racers.
The Academy provides assistance, where possible, to drivers and their teams, access to coaches for performance training, and international exposure — creating pathways for Kiwi racers to compete at the highest levels of global motorsport.
KartSport New Zealand Academy Director, Tiffany Chittenden congratulated both drivers:
“This selection is a fantastic achievement for Zach and Tommy and highlights the efforts of the KartSport New Zealand Academy to create a pathway for New Zealand drivers to compete on the World Stage through KSNZ’s connection with the FIA.
“Representing New Zealand at the FIA World Cup is a tremendous honour, and we’re proud to see our young drivers taking their place among the world’s best in yet another International event in 2025. Already this year, Kiwi drivers have shown they can compete at the top, and we still have some big events coming up, not only the FIA World Cup.
“Being the inaugural event, it will be great for us to learn from Zach and Tommy’s experiences to see the possibilities for this event in the future”
