AlphaTauri F1 team are still the only team to score points in every race this season.

So it comes as no surprise that they will be retaining their current lineup for next season.

The pair of Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda has been working well so far.

Pierre has moved into a leadership role taking the young Japanese rookie Tsunoda under his wing.

Gasly has been having a blinder of a season and sits 8th in the drivers standings on 66 points.

The 25-year-old Frenchman also just finished 4th at the Dutch GP finishing best of the rest behind the two Mercedes and the race winner Max Verstappen.

Yuki Tsunoda was the first Japanese driver to score points in their debut race. Tsunoda finished 9th on his first time out at Bahrain and has now finished in the points in 5 out his 13 races.

The two drivers have also formed a great off track relationship with many fans calling it the unexpected ‘bromance’ of the year.

Team principal Franz Tost praised both drivers and explained he was excited to see the further development of the two drivers.

Pierre Gasly commented in his press release:

“I am very happy to be moving forward with Scuderia AlphaTauri for another season in Formula 1 … Seeing the performance we’ve shown so far this season.

“I think there are great things to achieve for the rest of this season and for next year, especially with the upcoming changes to the championship in 2022”.

Finally, Yuki explained:

“I’m really excited to be staying with Scuderia AlphaTauri for a second season. It’s an incredible opportunity and I’m so thankful to the team and Dr Marko for letting me continue to grow my experience in Formula 1.

“I have a very good relationship with Pierre, I have learnt a lot from him already this year and his experience has helped me to keep developing my own skills, so it’s great to be continuing my F1 journey with him”.

How do you think the team will go in 2022?
