Armstrong and Lawson score half points in shortened F2 feature race

Marcus Armstrong and Liam Lawson finished eighth and ninth in a Formula 2 feature race that went for just five laps in Saudi Arabia.

The race start was already delayed nearly 40-minutes for barrier repairs following a Porsche crash.

Theo Pourchaire then stalled on the grid from third and was shunted into from an unsighted Enzo Fittipaldi.

Race control suspended the race. Both Pourchaire and Fittipaldi were reportedly conscious when attended to by medical crews.

They were transferred to a nearby hospital by ambulance and helicopter.

When the race was restarted, time was running out, and a new distance of 20 minutes plus one lap was determined.

Drivers would still have to perform a mandatory pitstop after four laps.

However, Olli Caldwell and Guilherme Samaia crashed a few laps in, which caused another red flag.

The race did not restart, and results finished up as the running order after five laps.

Oscar Piastri was awarded the win, his second of the weekend.

Half points were awarded to drivers.

Both Armstrong and Lawson made up one place on their qualifying position.

Earlier this weekend, the two finished a historic 1-2 as Armstrong led Lawson home for his first F2 race win.

The championship concludes next weekend in Abu Dhabi.
