Baypark Speedway hosts its 2025-26 Season Finale on Easter Saturday with crowd-pleasing demolition derby entertainment and the final of a rain-interrupted Sprint Car Series as the feature attractions.

Sprint Car racers started the Auto Super Shoppes Baypark Trifecta Series – a three-round contest with a $5000 purse – back on March 14.
Round two, the following weekend, was rained out, and the series concluded with a 20-lap feature race on Saturday night.
Only drivers who committed to the full series are eligible for points, which leaves Tauranga’s Cole Wood as the leader by a single point ahead of Tokoroa’s Keaton Dahm, with Aucklander Ryan O’Connor in third place.
This year’s Summer Demolition Derby at Bay has attracted a strong field, with some drivers keeping their cars out of harm’s way for almost a full year after the Easter 2025 event was rained out.

There are 38 drivers ready to battle to a standstill for a $1000 prize at the end of the night. It’s the largest field entered for a Baypark Demo Derby in the last six years.
The other classes in action at the Season Finale are Formula 2 Midget Cars, Stock Cars and the Youth Mini Stocks.
The Easter weekend Stock Car grid is expected to number 27 cars with a strong contingent of visitors from the Gisborne, Auckland, Huntly and Kihikihi tracks adding flavour to the season finale.
The Formula 2 Midgets have produced very close racing at their Baypark Speedway appearances this season and will turn out another strong field with 17 cars headed by recently crowned Aotearoa F2 champ James Earl and early-season feature winner Troy Jeffries.
Racing starts at 6.30pm.
