Grove Racing is excited to announce that Will Davison will join the team as an enduro co-driver in 2026, partnering Kiwi star Matt Payne for Bathurst. His arrival follows the retirement of Garth Tander—Payne’s winning partner at this year’s Great Race, who has now transitioned into a full-time role with the Supercars Commentary Team.

Davison’s signing represents a significant coup for Grove Racing. Brenton Grove, CEO of Grove Racing, believes Davison fits perfectly within the organisation’s long-term strategy.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Will Davison to the Grove Racing family. Will brings exceptional experience, a proven winning pedigree and an unwavering commitment to excellence. These qualities align perfectly with who we are as a team,” Grove said.
“His signing reflects our intent to continue strengthening our capability and performance. Will is the ideal addition to our program, bringing experience and insight that will strengthen the entire team, including Matt and Kai.”
Davison is one of Supercars’ most accomplished and respected competitors, renowned for his professionalism, consistency, and longevity at the elite level.
A two-time Bathurst 1000 winner, his leadership, calm demeanour, and deep understanding of race craft have made him a valued asset to every team he has represented. He remains a standout ambassador for Australian motorsport both on and off the track.
For Davison, the opportunity marks a new and exciting phase in his career, one he is embracing with enthusiasm.

“I am absolutely delighted to join the team at Grove Racing in this next phase and chapter of my career,” Davison said.
“I have been admiring the progression of this team from afar over the last few years, and it’s clear they mean business, which was proven by their success throughout this season, at Bathurst and during their finals campaign.
“Thanks to Brenton, Stephen Grove, and Garth Tander for making this happen. I love their vision and I am excited to be part of that journey going forwards. I can’t wait to get to work with Matt and Kai and two engineers I enjoyed great success with in the past—Grant McPherson and Al McVean.”
Davison’s arrival completes Penrite Racing’s 2026 driver line-up, following the recent confirmation of Tim Slade also joining the squad.
With Payne continuing to develop into one of the category’s most exciting young drivers and experienced hands now guiding the team, Grove Racing enters the new season with confidence and momentum.
