After winning the Motorsport New Zealand Elite Academy Camp last year it has just been announced that Jacob has also just been crowned the overall academy and Ian Snellgrove Trophy winner.
Competing over the weekend at the USF Pro Championships Freedom 90 in Indianapolis means that Jacob was unable to receive his award in person at the awards in Auckland tonight. However, he received the award this week in Indy and expressed his thanks to all involved.

“I am really proud to have won the top scholar of the class of 2024. The academy is a great program and I believe it has helped me prepare extremely well for my 2025 USF Pro 2000 season here in America.
“I learnt so much on what it takes to be a professional racing driver, and what it takes to become one.
“I worked closely with the providers that the academy set me up with and looked at how I can improve all different aspects of myself to make sure I am as best prepared as possible both mentally, physically and nutritionally heading into each race weekend.”
The Elite Motorsport Academy is a 12-month development program for young motorsport competitors in New Zealand, providing a structured path to success in the sport. The program includes an intensive week-long training camp followed by a tailored development program, focusing on fitness, nutrition, media, sponsorship, and mental performance.
The 2025 class has also been announced and includes Toby McCormack, Jack Stokes, Blake Dowdall, Corban Sprague, Izaak Fletcher, Jack Groenewald, Arthur Broughan and Cameron Hill. Congratulations to all.
