In just over 40 days, the nation’s best drivers will go head-to-head to claim the title of King of the Mountain at the 2025 Bathurst 1000.

The iconic Great Race was officially launched last night in Sydney with a gala event featuring a 36-piece symphony orchestra and the unveiling of the first Walkinshaw Andretti United Toyota GR Supra Supercar.

On Monday morning, 13 of the 54 superstar drivers contesting this year’s Bathurst 1000 descended on Sydney Harbour to help launch this year’s event, including defending Champions Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood.

They were joined by seven-time Bathurst winner Craig Lowndes, current Championship leader Broc Feeney, two-time King of the Mountain Chaz Mostert, 2023 Bathurst winner Richie Stanaway, 2017 Bathurst winner David Reynolds, 2011 Bathurst winner Nick Percat, two-time Bathurst 1000 pole-sitter Cam Waters as well as up and coming drivers Matt Payne, Andre Heimgartner, Aaron Cameron and rookie Cooper Murray who will drive the #99 Chiko Erebus Camaro in October.

Bathurst continues to be Australia’s premier motorsport spectacle, delivering a substantial $55 million economic impact to New South Wales and reaching over 325 million households across 128 nations.

Over 7,000 campsites for this year’s event sold out in record time, as the race continues to draw massive crowds, with more than 4.7 million spectators having visited the famous Mountain since 1997.

This year’s event will see a driver and co-driver lift the coveted Peter Brock Trophy, a feat Kostecki and Hazelwood achieved last year in the now-famed Chiko Erebus #99 Chevrolet Camaro.

The pair have since switched allegiances to Ford and will take on the Mount together in a Dick Johnson Racing Shell Mustang.

They’ll need to be at their best to hold off the greats of the Mountain, including Craig Lowndes, Jamie Whincup, Garth Tander, and Mark Winterbottom, who will all play a critical role as co-drivers in 2025.

The 2025 Bathurst 1000 also doubles as the final event before Supercars’ inaugural Repco Finals Series, meaning teams within striking distance of a Top 10 finish and a spot in the finals will be putting everything on the line to secure critical points and keep their Championship hopes alive.

The 2025 Bathurst 1000 event runs 9-12 October at Mount Panorama. Tickets are available through Supercars.com for general admission, grandstand seating and corporate hospitality.
