Collinson to take fight to Manuell

Glen ‘Coyote’ Collinson says he is ready to take the RYCO 24•7 V8 Utes Championship fight to seasoned veteran Paul Manuell for the upcoming championship deciding round.

“Our aim is fairly simple for the next round, as it’s the final we just need to score as many points as we possibly can, we are sitting fairly comfortable in P2 in the Championship,” Collinson told Velocity News.

After three rounds of this year’s championship already under their belts, the team from Panorama Motorsports have been keeping to their busy schedule to ensure the Ford Falcon is always match ready.

“Our preparation is repetitive; we do the same things week in week out on a Wednesday.

“Make a list, work through the list, repairing damage servicing, removal of parts that have reached the end of their life span, prep, setup and load ready for the next round, keep it simple, keep the car fresh.”

The most recent round of the RYCO 24•7 V8 Utes Championship from Manfeild witnessed Collinson experience a power steering system during race one.

But the determination from Collinson to still finish third in the race has ensured the ‘Coyote’ remains within touching distance of Manuell for the overall title.

Before the Manfeild weekend, Collinson had won a race at each of the first two rounds from Pukekohe and Hampton Downs and was unbeaten in both Sunday morning reverse top ten races.

Meanwhile, Paul Manuell has been on incredible form all season, banking off an impressive Asian TA2 title-winning campaign.

“The margin to first is mathematically possible but Paul Manuell is an accomplished competitor.

“But we are gonna give it 100% and see where we land.”

“We never say never at Panorama Motorsport.”

The championship decider will take place from Hampton Downs on March 27-29 in conjunction with Speedworks.
