The first month of production of Kiwis- Born to Fly 2 has been completed, with Perspective Group’s Producer David Turner pleased with the progress thus far.

Following the success of the first installment, which focussed on New Zealanders in IndyCar and on the Road to Indy pathway, Part 2 was announced in early October.

The latest instalment of the documentary series will uncover the work and products of companies and products that are made and created right here in New Zealand. It will highlight these companies who are leaders in their respective brands all while retaining the kiwi culture, brand values and high quality products.

“The New Zealand based companies we are highlighting in this second instalment of Kiwis – Born to Fly has simply amazed me,” commented Turner.

“The talent, skill set and the amount of profile they all have outside of New Zealand is staggering. The products they are all creating are quite frankly world leaders, and to think they all proudly wave the flag for New Zealand and create in New Zealand is quite simply something we should all be very proud of as followers of the sport and as Kiwis.”

The production team has now traveled from Auckland, to Christchurch and Wellington, and back to Auckland, shooting interviews and footage at each of the companies this edition will cover.

It will enter several weeks of post production at a local facility (Number 6 Post) before the team travels again to shoot an exciting conclusion to the documentary.

These companies will showcase their products on the world’s largest stage the Performance Industry show in December in Indianapolis. Known as the Motorsport Capital of the World, Indianapolis plays host to this trade show yearly, where the class of Motorsport product manufacturers showcase product in a three-day event attended by thousands within the industry.

Everyone is looking at the next and best products that are on the markets and these Kiwi companies are certainly crowd stoppers at his event.

The documentaries concept again is to simply show and highlight the passion all of these people and companies regardless of the role or product they may create and what they have developed across many years within the sport along with the dedication they have given to it. They represent New Zealand as true ambassadors for the sport of Motorsport.

New Zealand’s profile within the sport currently with drivers competing in so many profile classes is one thing but to see the talent we have as a nation is overwhelming both these companies and the talents Kiwis – Born to Fly uncovered behind the scenes in INDYCAR in the first instalment.

The documentary will screen on Sky Sport in the first quarter of 2025 at a date to be confirmed by Sky NZ.

Supporting presenting sponsors are Racetech, Kellford Cams, Link Engine Mangerment, Dodson, and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
