The GT New Zealand Championship gets back underway this weekend after a four-week break, back in the North Island visiting the Manfeild Chris Amon circuit at Feilding for round four of the five-round series.

Championship leader Rick Armstrong will look to continue his dominant form from Highlands at round three, where he delivered three wins across the weekend.

In the Open Class, and after three rounds, Rick Armstrong looks to have the Championship by the throat, with a total of 719 points. Nigel Cromie on 658.5 with Joel Giddy third on 587.5.

In GT4, Glen Chappel in a Toyota Supra GT4 EVO 2 leads on 719.5, with Grant Aitken second on 650.5, and Allan Sargeant third on 557.5.

A compact field of four Porsche 992 cars, line up in Open Class in the hands of Rick Armstrong, Sam Fillmore, Regan Scoullar and Nigel Cromie. A number of the regular competitors are unable to attend this weekend due to prior commitments.

In GT4, Allan Sargeant returns in his Toyota Supra GT4 EVO 2 with youngster William Exton, while another young gun, Tom Bewley, joins Glen Chappel in the sister car – the two youngsters expected to have a fierce battle on track chasing wins.

Grant Aitken switches back to his Audi R8 and will be joined this weekend by Greg Murphy.

Runner-up in the GT4 Championship last season, James Sax, returns this weekend in his Mercedes AMG GT4, having missed the two South Island rounds.

The on-track action at Manfeild will see two 30-minute races and a single 50-minute feature race held over the weekend.
