While most Formula 1 drivers slow down during the season and take a breather over the summer, this Kiwi full-time F1 driver has been anything but idle.
Over the past two months, both during the F1 season and the summer break, he’s been tearing up tarmac, gravel, and dirt across the globe, showcasing his incredible versatility behind the wheel.
His adventure began at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he swapped his F1 car for a WRC-spec rally machine.
Not only did he handle the car with compsoure, but he also finished among the fastest drivers on the hill, even beating some former World Rally Champions, a reminder to his doubters that raw talent knows no bounds.
Europe called next, where he got behind the wheel of the continent’s first ADRO Porsche 992 GT3, putting the car through its paces at Cadwell Park Circuit in England.
The action didn’t stop there. In Montreal, Canada, he tested the Honda Talon 1000 for Honda Racing US, quoting the experience “as one of the most fun things he has done”
Lawson then headed to Shanghai for a thrilling demonstration in Honda’s all-electric GT cars, impressing the global Honda team with his precision and pace and becoming quite the marketable F1 driver with involvement in a range of promotions and demonstrations.
From F1 to rally, electric GTs, and cutting-edge sports cars, he’s showcased why Kiwi drivers are among the most adaptable in the world. Two months, countless wheels, zero rest—truly, no rest for the wicked.
