Filming of the second instalment of Kiwis-Born to Fly has officially wrapped up.

The latest instalment of the popular documentary series will uncover the work and products of companies made and created right here in New Zealand, highlighting businesses that are leaders in their respective fields.

To complete filming, Perspective Group travelled to Indianapolis, the Motorsport Capital of the World, for the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show, the world’s largest motorsport-related trade show, which took place from December 12th to 15th.

PRI attendees are looking at the next and best products that are on the market, and the show attracts thousands from all around the world to the massive downtown Indianapolis Convention Centre and the adjoining Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the local NFL team, the Colts.

A contingent of New Zealand companies attended the 2024 PRI show to showcase their industry-leading products to the who’s who of motorsport.

The featured companies on Kiwis-Born to Fly 2 were all present, with the documentary offering a unique, behind-the-scenes showcase of their journey to exhibit their products on the world stage.

Once again, they were crowd-stoppers at the event.

Joined on day one at a New Zealand Trade and Enterprise event that featured VIPs and Kiwi guests was 2024 New Zealand Grand Prix winner Liam Sceats, proving New Zealand talent runs deep and well across the greater motorsport scene.

Motorsport products in the U.S. alone accounted for USD 8 billion in 2023, and 76 per cent of the U.S.-based companies were reporting a stable and improving market.

The New Zealand brands have become well respected across many product ranges, with all companies seeing a steady and large following at their respective stands across each day of the event, proving without doubt how much they are valued.

Post-production will continue at a local facility (Number 6 Post) and will be completed in the early New Year.

The documentary will then air on Sky Sport NZ, most likely stated for mid-February 2025, with other outlets to be named in the coming weeks.

In a recent agreement with Penske Entertainment / INDYCAR and Sky NZ, the original Kiwis – Born to Fly will get an “encore” screening on Sky NZ before the second instalment debuts.

Supporting presenting sponsors are Racetech, Kellford Cams, Link Engine Management, Dodson and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
