“More orange”: CGR reveal Dixon’s 2025 IndyCar livery

Chip Ganassi Racing has unveiled the livery for the #9 Honda that will be driven by six-time IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon for the 2025 season.

The fresh look reflects the PNC Bank brand and continues to feature the orange, blue and white colours fans have grown to associate with the Kiwi great since 2018.

The livery resembles that used in 2024, the key change being a stronger orange influence on the car.

“I’m excited. It was a long off-season,” said Dixon.

“We definitely have some big areas and some low-hanging fruit where I think we can make some big shifts and some big changes for a positive effect for the No. 9 PNC Bank Honda. I’m looking forward to that.”

A historic season is on the cards for Dixon, who holds the all-time record for most podiums in the series with 142. His 58 career wins is second to AJ Foyt’s 67, as is his six championships, to Foyt’s seven.

Dixon is also on track to break Mario Andretti’s all-time starts record with his 407th IndyCar start at the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 this May.

This season is Dixon’s 25th consecutive year of competing in IndyCar, with 24 of those competed with Chip Ganassi Racing.

Two victories last season continued a streak of 20 consecutive years with a win, the longest streak in major motorsports history.

Together, CGR will attempt to extend that streak in 2025 and score the team’s sixth championship in the last eight years, its 17th INDYCAR championship, which would tie it for most all-time.

““Being shoulder-to-shoulder in an INDYCAR partnership with PNC has been extraordinary because the things that make them a great bank are also what makes Scott and the team so consistent,” said the #9’s Strategist Mike Hull.

“They all do the little things brilliantly which is why the partnership with PNC is so perfect. We are happy to return with the orange and blue once again of PNC Bank on the No. 9.”

The 2025 IndyCar season begins with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 2.
