Current National Midget Car Champion Hayden Williams and Buckley Systems Limited Racing team mate Travis Buckley are joined by 3NZ Max Guilford in Indiana, USA for USAC Indiana Midget Week and more.

The United States Auto Club (USAC) ran it’s first Indiana Midget Week in 2005 and had only a handful of tracks on the slate. This time round a record breaking 8 tracks are on the card for the NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series.

The first event is at Paragon Speedway, an hour South West of the state Capitol, Indianapolis on the 3rd of June. The following night it’s a short trip down the road to Bloomington Speedway then across to the Ohio boarder for Lawrenceburg Speedway and on to Tri-State Speedway to reach the half-way point in 4 consecutive nights of racing.

The mini-series then pauses briefly mid-week for 3 days then resumes at the new Indianapolis short track Circle City Raceway. The final 3 tracks, much like Lawrence burg and Bloomington have been mainstays of Midget week; Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Gas City I-69 Speedway and Kokomo Speedway.

All the Kiwis have seat time in America with Guilford spending the last few summers racing Sprintcars. Williams competed in Midget week in 2015 along with fellow countrymen Brock Maskovich and Brad Mosen. Buckley has races previously in California for several season.

The BSL pairing have shipped cars and had new USAC spec. Esslinger engines fitted to their Bullet chassis while Guilford is in his familiar King Chassis Toyota, although with a new paint scheme and sponsorship from the Tony Elliott Foundation and Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts joining Smart Water and Ivent Solutions.

BSL Race team manager Calvin Worthington is with the team turning wrenches and Guilford has experienced American crew chief Scott Benic and the well-resourced Matt Goodnight Racing team in his corner

There’s plenty more racing to be had after Indiana Midget week and both BSL Racing and Guilford Motorsport have indicated that further race dates will be confirmed at the conclusion of the series.
