Racer Products announced as new naming rights sponsor for NZV8s

Racer Products are the new naming rights sponsor of the New Zealand V8 Touring Car Championship.

It ends the long association the category had with BNT Automotive.

The series will now be called Racer Products V8s.

“We have been very privileged to have received support from our corporate partner BNT over many Years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them and look forward to working with them again in the near future,” Category Manager Gary Lathrope said.

“We see Racer Products as a perfect fit for our V8 Allcomers category. With our new regulations allowing eligibility for a vast range of naturally aspirated V8 saloon cars along with our new long distance feature race with the Balance of Performance Pit Stops, we feel we have a great formula to grow the category with our new corporate partner.”

The name change comes as the V8 category takes on a major restructuring this season. Race formats have been altered to accommodate a new, longer feature race with compulsory pitstops.

Car eligibility this year is open to any V8-powered race car. The series will also be home to the start of the Trans-Tasman V8 championship (TTV8) over the next few years.

Racer Products is New Zealand’s premier motorsport and karting goods supplier, offering quality performance products from some of the world’s leading brands.

Focussing on offering proven premium products, they are the official NZ agents for OMP racewear and equipment, Brembo Racing and High Performance, KW Suspension, Bell Helmets, and Tilton racing clutches and pedal boxes.

They complement these marquee brands by offering quality products from other top manufacturers such as Hawk Performance, Stand 21, Woodward Steering Systems, Sabelt, Impact, Lithiumax Batteries, QStarz, Coolshirt, etc.

The company has proven itself to become the go-to shop within New Zealand’s motorsport and karting community.

“We’re passionate about motorsport, especially V8s, and we’ve been involved in V8 racing in some way shape or form as competitors and sponsors for over 20 years,” added Gene Rollinson, CEO of Racer Products Ltd.

“We’re excited to partner with NZ Touring Cars and create Racer Products V8s. Many of our product line is out there in cars on the circuit, so we’re looking forward to supporting our customers so they can go racing and connecting with new ones.”

The first round under the Racer Products name will be this weekend at Manfeild.
