Reid Harker to tackle Thailand Super Series season finale

The 2022 edition of the Thailand Super Series concludes this weekend at Chang International Circuit with Kiwi ace Reid Harker amongst a field of talented competitors.

Harker will compete for Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand in the #12 Lexus RC-F GT3. The team have used the likes of Earl Bamber to race for them earlier this season.

He’ll join local driver Piti Bhirombhakdi who has already stood on the podium in the series this year. Mixed results do see him down the championship standings but he has shown he has the pace to be a genuine threat.

If you’re missing you’re international racing fix, the entire race weekend will be streamed live on the Thailand Super Series website.

The GT3 competition begins with two 15 minute qualifying sessions on Saturday afternoon, the first at 3.30pm and the latter at 3.55pm. The first race follows 10.15pm. It’s timed at 60 minutes plus one lap, similar to the Fanatec GT World Challenge which is Harker’s usual hunting ground.

Sunday’s race is the same length, beginning at 6.10pm.

As is the standard around the world, Toyota Gazoo Racing are an outfit which regularly challenge for top results. Having a driver like Harker at the helm is an added bonus for the team.

The Kiwi ran a full season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia for Earl Bamber Motorsport Giga Racing, partnering Setiawan Santoso. They drove their Porsche 911 GT3 R to seventh in the Pro-Am class which was won by Prince Jefri Ibrahim, who also races in the Australian leg of the tournament for Tripe 8 Race Engineering.

Harker and Santoso have claimed two podiums in their GT3 this year in addition to multiple fourth and fifth places.

It’ll be a good way to close out 2022 for the Kiwi who is fast establishing himself as a front-runner in the Asian motorsport scene.

We’ll provide updates throughout the weekend.
