The 24 Red Racing SS Cup heads to Levels Raceway in Timaru this weekend for Round 4 of the championship, arriving with strong momentum and one of the deepest grids seen this season.
A full field of 38 cars is confirmed, with additional competitors sitting on a waiting list, underlining the continued growth and appeal of the series.

Overall championship picture
With three rounds completed, the championship is entering a critical phase. Consistency has rewarded the early front-runners, but with Joker rounds still in play and reverse grid and handicap races ahead, Levels Raceway presents an opportunity for significant movement in the standings.
A packed grid and minimal room for error mean every race result will matter, particularly for those still chasing ground heading into the second half of the season.
A Class
A Class is again well represented, led by championship pace setters Dave McLean and Matt Ryan, both arriving in strong form. They will be joined by Steve Parker, Lincoln Brunton, Peter Sutherland, Richard Simpson, Warren Walker, and Jon Leng, forming a competitive A Class group that blends outright speed with experience.
With Levels Raceway rewarding rhythm and precision, qualifying position will be especially important for A Class runners looking to control the early stages of the weekend.

B Class
B Class remains one of the most competitive areas of the field, with Jason Kelly, Josh Mitchell, and Carmen Liemburg all firmly in the championship conversation. They will be joined by Logan Anderson, Brad Rae, James Swaney, Jacob Cunniffe, and Mal Walters, ensuring depth right through the class.
Several B-Class drivers arrive with momentum and unfinished business, making Levels a potential turning point as strategies begin to diverge.
C Class
C Class continues to showcase close racing and variety, with a strong group including Allan Garnett, Marty Russell, Ross Jones, Darren Harding, Mike McCarthy, Mick Ross, Mike Hammer, Tony Herbert, Glen Wendelborn, Ben van Heeswyck, Corey Ashworth, and Africa Barker.
With large numbers and minimal pace separation, C Class drivers will once again play a key role in shaping handicap races, while also battling hard for their own class honours.

A diverse and committed field
The entry list highlights the variety that has become a hallmark of the SS Cup. Honda Civics and Integras line up alongside RX-8s, Golfs, Silvias, Altezzas, Falcons, Commodores, Celicas, and Toyotas, creating a grid that rewards adaptability as much as outright performance.
The number of competitors making the trip reflects not only the appeal of the series but the strength of the SS Cup community, with shared tools, late-night fixes, and friendly rivalry remaining part of race week life.
Levels Raceway set to deliver
Levels Raceway’s flowing layout and technical sections are well-suited to the SS Cup format. With 38 cars on track, traffic management will be critical across all classes, particularly during handicap races where pace differences compress the field.
For spectators, the venue offers excellent viewing and is expected to deliver plenty of side-by-side racing as the championship fight intensifies.
With a full grid, a waiting list, and championship pressure building, SS Cup Round 4 at Levels Raceway is shaping up as one of the standout meetings of the season.
