Penrite Racing has unveiled the final batch of Indigenous Round liveries for this weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown.
It is a striking livery change for the Mustangs of Kiwi driver Matt Payne and teammate Kai Allen, who have swapped their traditional black base for a white livery in Hidden Valley.

The team have partnered with the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School with Year 10 student Ella and Year 11 student Jamelia, creating a collaborative design.
The Penrite Racing livery reflects their experiences at MITS, a school for Indigenous students from remote locations, and also represents a connection to culture, Country, and Aboriginal people.
Several symbols represent the story, with the MITS logo at the centre of the design, representing the nurturing environment where learning, growth, and connection flourish.

‘U’ shapes represent Aboriginal people sitting in a circle yarning, whilst cross-stitch patterns represent the interwoven nature of cultural knowledge being passed down through generations.
Both students are excited to see their designs hit the track tomorrow, with Ella saying:
“I can’t wait to see my artwork on the two cars. I feel proud to have my culture seen by so many people at the racetrack and on TV. Thank you for this exciting opportunity.”

“I was so happy when I was asked to create this artwork. I have never been to the races before and am very excited! I want to thank the Penrite Racing Team for supporting us students at MITS,” said Jamelia.
MITS is a school and boarding program based on Wurundjeri Country in the Melbourne suburb or Richmond, and are in their third year of partnership with Penrite Racing.

“The Supercars Indigenous Round is an exciting opportunity to showcase and celebrate our incredible students’ cultures on the national stage.
“The pride that our student artists Ella and Jamelia will feel when seeing their beautiful artwork flying around Hidden Valley Raceway on Larrakia Country will be profound.
“Our partnership with Grove Racing is now entering its third year, with all funds raised going towards enabling a great education for young Indigenous people from the Northern Territory and regional Victoria.
“We are so grateful to the Grove Racing team for their generous support of our students and MITS.”
