The Dayle ITM Gold Rush Rally of Coromandel will roar to life this weekend, drawing motorsport enthusiasts and families alike to a day of adrenaline, spectacle, and local flavour.
The official start will set the tone for the event, with engines revving and anticipation building as competitors line up under the (hopefully) coastal sun. Crowds will gather from 4:30pm – 6pm on Blacksmith Lane, soaking up the vibrant atmosphere as drivers prepare to test both machine and skill against one of New Zealand’s most iconic rally landscapes.

A major highlight will be the Super Stage on Saturday afternoon, where precision driving and raw speed will come together in a showcase of New Zealand rally talent. The stage will deliver both edge-of-the-seat competition and unforgettable entertainment, reaffirming the Gold Rush Rally’s status as a must-see on the motorsport calendar this year.
Adding to the day’s unique charm will be the food stop for competitors at the Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Harataunga school, where the local community will come together to offer hearty Coromandel hospitality.
The competing teams have a 15-minute break at the school and will be treated to delicious local-style food, transforming the break into a moment of connection between the rally and the people who host it.
This stop will not only refuel competitors, but will also raise valuable funds for the school, underscoring the rally’s role in supporting and celebrating the local community.
“The Gold Rush Rally is about more than just racing; it’s about bringing people together,” said Simon Bell, Rally Chairman.
“From the thrilling stages to the school food stop, the fundraising at the start on Friday and the community involvement, it’s an event that embodies the Coromandel spirit.”
As the dust settles on late Saturday afternoon, the Dayle ITM Gold Rush Rally of Coromandel will leave behind more than tyre tracks; it will leave memories of high-octane action, community pride, and shared passion for motorsport.
