Chris Van der Drift will get behind the wheel of a Ferrari 296 GT3 with Absolut Racing for the 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series.

The three-time Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Champion will share the #23 Ferrari with father and son duo Gregory and Carl Bennett.

The trio will participate in six races, each timed at four hours, over the 2024-2025 season.

“We look forward to working with Absolute Racing for a successful run in the Asian Le Mans Series,” said Gregory Bennett.

“Racing with Chris Van der Drift and my son Carl will be an exciting experience.”

A record 45 entries have been confirmed for the 2024/25 season, which gets underway at Sepang in Malaysia on December 7.

Eleven LMP2s will be joined by six LMP3s and an impressive 28-strong GT contingent.

Also included on the provisional entry list is Earl Bamber Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3, and a yet-to-be-announced new car fielded by Kiwi team Prime Speed Sport. Australian team Triple Eight will field two Mercedes-AMG GT3s.

Six manufacturers are represented, with Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Lamborghini joined by McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.

The 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series begins with the first 4 Hours of Sepang on December 7, with a second four-hour race following a day later at the same venue.

That same format is followed at Dubai Autodrome (February 8/9) before the rounds five and six at Yas Marina Circuit on February 15-16.
