The Wolfbrook Motorsport Foundation has announced Blake Knowles as the recipient of its 2024/2025 season scholarship.

Knowles will receive the use of a Toyota GR86 and $50,000 towards his racing campaign for the upcoming Toyota GR86 Championship.

The 2023/24 New Zealand Formula Ford Champion was one of several strong applicants for the opportunity and stood out for his professionalism and impressive track record in motorsport.

“We were impressed with Blake’s application and the successes he’s already achieved,” said Steve Brooks, founder of the Wolfbrook Motorsport Foundation.

“His dedication and potential align perfectly with the Foundation’s mission to nurture New Zealand’s next motorsport stars.

“The Foundation was thrilled to see so many promising young drivers apply, a testament to the bright future of motorsport in New Zealand.”

Established in 2024 by Brooks, the Wolfbrook Foundation offers young drivers a platform to showcase their skills and passion in a competitive environment to nurture and develop the next generation of race car superstars.

Brooks began the Wolfbrook Motorsport Foundation after witnessing many promising young drivers abandon their motorsport dreams due to financial constraints.

Renowned team James Marshall Motorsport is a backer of the foundation and will run the GR86 with Knowles for the season.

After several strong campaigns in other grades, Knowles now enters the 2024/25 Toyota GR86 Championship among the favourites.

In addition to his 2023/24 New Zealand Formula Ford Championship, which he clinched in front of a sell-out crowd at the ITM Taupo Super400 in a final race thriller, Knowles has also been a standout performer in the current South Island Endurance Series season.

In two starts, Knowles has featured on the Class 4 & 5 1-Hour podium twice in a Hyundai TCR, the first at Teretonga before most recently at Ruapuna.

He is also heading to Bathurst next weekend, where he’ll be behind the wheel of a 1997 Nissan Primera British Touring Car in the Heritage Touring Cars support class of the Bathurst 1000.

After that, he’ll return to New Zealand and begin preparing for the upcoming Toyota GR86 Championship, which kicks off at Taupo International Motorsport Park on November 22-24.

About the Wolfbrook Foundation

Brooks began the Wolfbrook Motorsport Foundation after witnessing many promising young drivers abandon their motorsport dreams due to financial constraints.

With multiple people asking for sponsorship, he concentrated his efforts and formed a team. The foundation was created to provide aspiring drivers with the necessary resources to succeed.
