Bryn Jones is back in action this weekend, taking on the Rali Terras D’Aboboreira as part of the Peugeot Rally Cup Portugal.

The event marks a new challenge for Jones, who will line up alongside Welsh co-driver Max Freeman, with the pair tackling fast and technical gravel stages in the Amarante region of Portugal.
Rali Terras D’ Aboboreira is known for being a tough rally, and with a strong field expected, the focus will be on building confidence and putting together a solid run from start to finish.
“The roads are quite different to what I’m used to, so there are a few things we need to be precise with in the pace notes,” said Jones.
“Overall, they’re in good condition, just with some rough sections to be mindful of. It’s been valuable to see what the stages are like before driving them flat-out, so now it’s about building on that.”
Having previously only driven the Peugeot 208 Rally4 on tarmac, Jones heads into the rally after completing his first gravel test in the car — an important step ahead of the weekend.
“It was a really good test and great to be back in the car after some time out since Rally Whangarei last year,” he added.
“The car felt strong, especially being our first time on gravel in the 208 Rally4. Max and I learned a lot from our team, PT Racing, and made a few changes to better suit my driving style, so we’ve got a solid base heading into the rally.”
Rali Terras D’ Aboboreira begins on the 17th of April.
