F1 TV Pro launched in New Zealand

Kiwi Formula 1 fans now have the potential to liven up their viewing experience, with F1 TV Pro launching in New Zealand today.

F1 TV Pro allows viewers to watch the race from onboard cameras on each of the 20 cars, as well as the usual TV coverage to enhance their on-screen experience.

You can also tune into each driver’s inter-team radio and listen to them discuss in-race tactics.

The service was previously geo-blocked in New Zealand.

Those who are already subscribed to Spark Sport, the official F1 streaming platform in New Zealand, get F1 TV Pro for free.

They only need to activate the service through https://f1tv.formula1.com.

Otherwise, Kiwis can sign-up directly to F1 TV Pro for a monthly fee of $14.99 or an annual cost of $99.99.

Head of Spark Sport, Jeff Latch, says F1 TV Pro will change the way people watch each Grand Prix.

“F1 TV Pro is a great service enabling fans to switch between channels and views – like Pit Lane Channel, an alternative view from the main feed, and a unique multi-screen view.

“Fans can also switch between any of the 20 onboard cameras giving fans unparalleled access to F1 races – seeing the action exactly how the drivers see it at 320 km/hr.”

New Zealand becomes the 86th country to gain access to F1 TV Pro.

Today’s announcement coincides with this weekend’s British Grand Prix, which will be the first event Kiwis can watch using the new service.

“We are incredibly excited to be bringing F1 TV Pro to our fans in New Zealand ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix with Spark Sport,” said Formula 1’s Director of Media Rights and Content Creation, Ian Holmes.

“We are using new technology which focuses on performance and quality as it is geared especially for watching fast-moving action.”
