This year’s rendition of the annual Highlands Festival of Speed has been cancelled.

The Festival of Speed is acclaimed as one of the most popular classic events in New Zealand for both competitors and spectators and is renowned for attracting many of the country’s most well-known motorsport legends.

A statement by Highlands Park confirming the cancellation of the event read:

“Sorry race fans, but The Highlands Festival of Speed for 2020 has been cancelled. Obviously disappointing for everyone, but at this time, our duty of care to our staff, competitors, fans, volunteers and the community is paramount.

“Full refunds will be made to competitors and ticket holders and we will follow up with those processes later today.

“We are unable to host the Festival at a later date, due to our limited TIER 2 Days and our allocation for the motorsport year ends at the end of April. So watch out for 2021! She will be a goodie!”
