Aryton Hodson has put in a huge effort to move up multiple spots and finish fifth, his strongest result this season.

At lights out, Hodson was able to jump up three spots to seventh, while capitalising on others mistakes to move into a strong fifth early on.
Nash Morris, while sitting in third, recieved a fifteen second penalty after causing an earlier collision, which would promote Hodson to fourth if he held position.
The Kiwi was soon opening up a gap behind, extending the gap to over a second and a half as Brad Vaughan was under pressure from Ben Gomersall.
As Vaughan and Gomersall started to catch, Gomersall was able to make a move on the driver ahead, stretching the gap back out to a second.
The pace of Gomersall was too much for Hodson as the teenager had no issues getting past the Kiwi. At the halfway mark, the Kiwi sat in sixth place, two seconds ahead of Matthew Hillyer.
Meanwhile, out the front, Campbell Logan led from Tickford junior Lochie Dalton, with Morris still in third with a penalty looming over his head.
The race then turned into a tyre-preservation game, as Hodson and others locked into a rhythm and tried to extend tyre life without slowing too much. Whilst Hodson managed, he was able to maintain sixth place on track after Morris’s penalty.
As the clock ticked down, Hodson was comfortably ahead of Hillyer, with the gap sitting at a second with six minutes to go.
Hodson extended the gap out to over two seconds with four minutes to go, before crossing the line to take a phenomenal result, and his best this season.
In some late race drama, Dalton flung himself off track in the final corner, bumping him down to fifth, ahead of Hodson.
He was able to comfortably bring the #28 car home sixth on track before being promoted to fifth after penalties.
Super2 is back tomorrow, with qualifying at 12:35pm and Race 2 at 3:45pm.
