Ferrari junior Marcus Armstrong got his first taste of Formula 1 with a test in the Scuderia’s 2018 car at its Fiorano circuit.
The Kiwi shared duties with Giuliano Alesi and Robert Shwartzman as Ferrari prepare for an extensive week-long test in the older car to help its drivers get back up to speed.
“Making some childhood dreams come true,” said Armstrong. “Grazie Scuderia Ferrari and the Ferrari Driver Academy for letting me drive this beast. I won’t be forgetting this day for a while.”
This year, Armstrong will be contesting his second season of FIA Formula 2 with DAMS.
Calendar changes for the year means the F2 paddock will only have eight rounds, with three races per meeting instead of the usual two.
The first round will be at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 27-28.
