The Jackson Orchards Sprint Series will return to Highlands Motorsport Park for the 2026/27 season, with four rounds of racing and several updates planned for competitors.
The new season gets underway with a double-header weekend on November 21–22, before the series returns for Round 3 on February 27 and the season finale on April 10.
Jackson Orchards will continue as naming rights partner of the series, with the support of Kevin, Kristin and their team helping provide an added incentive for this season’s competitors.
Each of the four class winners will receive free entry into the entire 2027/28 Jackson Orchards Sprint Series at Highlands.
A number of changes have also been introduced for the upcoming campaign, including the series moving to the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) as its governing body.
Race Radio will remain compulsory for all competitors following its introduction to improve communication, safety and efficiency, while rolling starts will also continue across the four-round championship.
The Fast and Furious race format returns but will now be run as a timed race at every round.
The opening three rounds will feature a 20-minute Fast and Furious race, increasing to 30 minutes for the season finale. A Safety Car will be deployed between 20 and 60 per cent race distance to regroup the field before a restart.
The Joker Card also returns, allowing competitors to nominate one round during the season in which they will score double points.
Driving standards will continue to be managed under a three-strike system. Competitors can receive two warnings for driving misconduct, with a third resulting in exclusion from the remainder of the season.
The final round will bring an additional challenge, with racing moving onto Highlands’ full-length GT Circuit and different breakout lap times applying across the four classes.
Support categories will also feature throughout the season, adding further variety to the race programme. SS Cup and OSCA are among those joining the Sprint Series programme, while Mazda Pro 8 will also feature during the season.
Each regular round will consist of three six-lap races and a timed Fast and Furious race, with four classes determined by breakout lap times and championship points awarded for each race.
Highlands will also continue its Competitor Volunteer Programme, which gives competitors the option of providing a volunteer for the ballot for one Highlands race meeting during the season or paying a $100 fee to support the volunteer programme.
Entries are limited, with a maximum grid of 40 cars available on the A and C circuit configuration, allowing for up to 20 cars in each class.
Competitors can enter all four rounds at a discounted rate, with full-season entrants receiving priority over those entering individual rounds.
The season will conclude with prizegiving at the Pit Lane Building following the final race on April 10.
