Kiwi drivers are set to play a prominent role in the upcoming Hi-Tec Oils Super Series “2 Days of Thunder” event at Queensland Raceway, with Ryan Wood, Matt McCutcheon, and Fabian Coulthard all confirmed across multiple headline endurance categories.
Supercars race winner Ryan Wood will take on a fresh challenge as he prepares to debut in the TA2 Muscle Car Series Tag Team Enduro. The young Kiwi will swap his usual Supercars machinery for a Ford Mustang TA2, teaming up with rising Walkinshaw prospect Pip Casabene for the two-driver contest.

Wood’s inclusion adds further star power to the growing field, which already features a mix of experienced campaigners and emerging talent. TA2 category manager Matthew MacKelden welcomed the addition of the Supercars race winner.
“This year’s TA2 Tag Team Enduro is once again shaping up to be an awesome event, and to have one of the most recent Supercars winners is very special,” said MacKelden.
“Ryan Wood is clearly one of the stars of Supercars, and for him to be partnering one of our championship drivers, fellow Walkinshaw TWG driver Pip Casabene, is a fantastic addition to the field.
“Pip has already proven himself to be a future talent when he qualified third on debut at Tailem Bend, so there’s no doubt they’ll be a competitive combination.
“We’ll be releasing some more brilliant combinations in the coming days, so I reckon Tim Slade and Alice Buckley will have their hands full defending their 2025 title.”
Meanwhile, experienced Kiwi Fabian Coulthard will return to endurance racing duties in the Australian Endurance Championship, lining up in the Ipswich 3 Hour. Coulthard will share a Mercedes-AMG GT with John Nikolovski under the AR Nineteen banner, as part of a competitive multi-class field.

The event will also feature another New Zealand presence, with Matt McCutcheon teaming up with Queensland Raceway owner Tony Quinn in a Toyota Supra. The pairing adds further Kiwi interest to the endurance contest, which blends production-based machinery with GT-style performance.
A diverse grid is expected for the season-opening round, with a mix of experienced names and returning competitors across a range of machinery, including BMW, Porsche, McLaren and Mercedes-AMG entries.
Both the TA2 Tag Team Enduro and the Australian Endurance Championship Ipswich 3 Hour form part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series “2 Days of Thunder” event, scheduled for May 1–3 at Queensland Raceway.
