Scott McLaughlin will sport a special Pirtek livery in this Sunday’s final round of the IndyCar iRacing Challenge.
The livery will celebrate Pirtek’s 40th anniversary and was commemorated earlier in the week when double-Supercars champion Marcos Ambrose ran a similarly-inspired livery in round four of the BP All Star Eseries.
Like Ambrose, McLaughlin will also don the number 40 for the race contested on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Though the Pirtek name is no stranger to IMS. In 2016, Australian racing driver Matt Brabham competed in the familiar Pirtek blue-and-yellow colours during the 100th running of the Indy 500.
The final round of the IndyCar iRacing Challenge will get underway on Sunday, May 3 from 6.30 am NZT.
