Motorsport Diary: Kiwis racing overseas this weekend

It’s a relatively quiet weekend in the midst of a busy season, but several Kiwis are still flying the New Zealand flag at events on the world stage.

Shane van Gisbergen returns for another busy weekend in the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, looking to replicate or better his third-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this year.

In Europe, Louis Sharp has a chance to build on his GB3 Championship lead and is joined in the field by Jacob Douglas, who makes his second outing of the year.

For something different, at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, a 12-hour endurance race exclusively for Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars sees Ryan Yardley and Madeline Stewart in action.

If that’s not enough, we also highly recommend checking out the Goodwood Revival live stream at points over the weekend, with some incredible vehicles of yesteryear set to grace the famous circuit. Coverage begins at 7.45 pm on Friday evening. A full entry list of what to expect can be found here.

Enjoy!

It’s another weekend of double duties for Shane van Gisbergen, who competes in the Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Van Gisbergen raced on the 1.54-mile (2.478km) quad-oval earlier this year and finished third in just his second-ever Xfinity Series oval race.

Louis Sharp leads the GB3 Championship by just four points ahead of this weekend’s triple-header at Donington Park, with only six races remaining in the season.

Jacob Douglas also returns to the GB3 Championship, making his second outing of 2024 for Chris Dittman Racing.
