The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship calendar has been released with no New Zealand round in sight.

As we wave farewell to the Pukekohe Park Raceway circuit where Supercars has been racing for all of its local rounds, Kiwis have been left without a round in the championship.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard reiterated that while a New Zealand event isn’t on the cards for next year, there is a focus on its return from 2024.

Discussions are currently ongoing between several circuits regarding other international events as well.

“We are still in progressive talks with our counterparts there for an event in the future, however as they continue it is in the best interest of all parties involved to focus on 2024 and beyond,” Howard said speaking to Supercars.

“We have every intention to return to New Zealand and we are confident of an announcement in the new year regarding a partnership with a new venue.”

While nothing has been confirmed, it is speculated that Hampton Downs International Motorsport Park could be the future track of choice.

Next year’s championship will consist of 12 rounds with the first race kicking off on the streets of Newcastle on March 10 to 12.

For the first time since 2019, there will be multiple endurance races including one at Sandown in September.

The 2023 season will be capped off at Adelaide on November 23 to 26. A full calendar can be found below.

We will also see the debut of the new Gen3 Supercars including the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, as we wave goodbye to Holden.

The final few races of the 2022 season will get underway in just over a week’s time at the VALO Adelaide 500 from December 1 to 4.
