The 2026 North Island Endurance Series bursts into life today with Round 1 of the One-Hour NZ National Endurance Championship, where a compact but competitive 15-car field is set to battle it out in a fast-paced endurance showdown.

Following the cancellation of the planned 500km race due to insufficient entries amid the current economic climate, organisers have shifted their focus entirely to the one-hour championship opener. The revised Saturday schedule features a 60-minute official practice session, qualifying, and a one-hour race that promises intense wheel-to-wheel action from start to finish.
Despite the changes, the category continues to provide a strong and cost-effective endurance racing platform, with drivers and teams eager to make an early statement as the season gets underway. Stay tuned throughout the day for live updates, qualifying results, key moments, and race coverage from Round 1 of the North Island Endurance Series.
Live race updates will go live just before 1:00PM below.
