Hayden Paddon has unveiled the fresh livery his Hyundai i20 AP4 will use in the upcoming rally season.
The ex-World Rally Championship event winner will start his fifth season running the AP4 in the Otago Rally later this month.
The new livery features the return of green; the colour Paddon drove to his first win and national championship, as well as the livery he used in his debut world championship event.
It is a similar look to Paddon’s all-electric Kona, which was revealed last year and has made several appearances at demonstration events.
Over the years, the i20 AP4 has gone through a handful of different looks.
The first design featured a blue and red livery, with blue being present on the car each following year.
Green has gradually been worked into the livery since 2019 with the latest livery the first to have green as the primary colour.
Paddon was initially meant to head to Canberra last month for the first round of the Australian Rally Championship.
Unfortunately, strict border measures at the time meant returning to New Zealand would have been impossible until at least midway through 2021.
Being away from home for so long meant Paddon would have missed the opening three rounds of the 2021 Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship.
Instead, Rally Otago will be Paddon’s first major event of the year.
The rally, which also acts as round one of the NZRC, will be held on April 16-18.
A record 114 entries will take to the starting line, including guest stars Aaron Slight and Avalon Biddle.
