Dreaming of racing a Porsche on New Zealand’s top circuits? The Porsche Podium Pursuit Scholarship is your chance to compete, get expert mentoring, and shine in the Boxster Trophy Class.

The Porsche Club of New Zealand, in conjunction with MyRaceRide.com, is pleased to launch the “Porsche Podium Pursuit” Scholarship for the 2025/26 Season.

This program is an exciting talent development initiative and offers a unique chance to compete in the New Zealand Porsche Championship’s Boxster Trophy Class (Boxster 2.5 – Class G).

The programme is designed to give aspiring racers a gateway into top-level motorsport, and this initiative will support one deserving driver to compete in the full 2025/26 New Zealand Porsche Championship, within the fiercely contested Boxster Trophy class (Class G – 2.5).

The winner of the selection competition will be granted the use of a race-prepared Porsche Boxster 2.5 for the entire six-round season – generously provided by MyRaceRide.com.

In addition, the successful driver will receive season-long mentoring from an experienced Boxster competitor, offering guidance both on and off the track.

Race Season Highlights:

The 2025/26 Porsche Championship kicks off on 24 October and will visit iconic circuits including Taupo, Hampton Downs, and Manfeild.

Notably, three rounds will be part of the high-profile NextGen series, featuring televised races and driver interviews, giving competitors invaluable media exposure.

What’s Covered – and What’s Not:

While the race-ready, 2.5 Boxster will be supplied by MyRaceRide.com, the winner must fund their own consumables (tyres, fuel, brakes, entry fees) and cover the transportation, maintenance, and servicing of the vehicle by an approved race preparation provider. A damage bond will be required.

To help offset costs, the car may be branded with personal sponsor signage at the driver’s discretion.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are welcome from a broad range of motorsport backgrounds – circuit racing, speedway, rally, karting, drifting, motorcycle racing, sim racing, or track day driving.

We are expecting the successful candidate to have some previous motorsport experience, as this is not designed for novice drivers.

Age is no barrier, with eligible applicants ranging from 16 to 60 years old.

Importantly, the program is only open to drivers who have not previously competed in the New Zealand Porsche Championship.

How to Apply:

Interested drivers must register their interest and submit their details via the form available on the MyRaceRide.com website – select ‘Apply HERE for the Porsche Podium Pursuit Program’ and complete the form. Queries can be directed to [email protected]

Entries should include:

  • A short, written CV outlining their motorsport experience.
  • A video (max 2 minutes) introducing themselves and sharing their racing background and aspirations.

Judges will be evaluating not only driving potential, but also an applicant’s media awareness and ability to promote themselves and the Porsche Racing Series.

The selected driver must be available for interviews and promotional opportunities throughout the season.

Selection Panel:

An experienced judging panel will oversee the selection process, including:

  • David McLeod – Editor, Tarmac Magazine
  • Damien O’Carroll – Driven Magazine
  • Jessica Barnes – Editor, Velocity News

Deadline:

Entries close on 12 September 2025, and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

If you have a burning desire to race and be part of the Porsche motorsport scene, this is your chance. Terms and Conditions apply.
