All is in place for the opening round of the third Repco NextGen NZ Championship season, with the schedule for a bumper season opener locked in today.

The PTS Logistics Season Opener at Taupo International Motorsport Park will feature seven competitive categories competing across three full days on track at the scenic circuit – not far from the banks of New Zealand’s largest lake and the scenic town attached to it.

PTS Logistics has become title partner for the opening event, to be held across the November 13-15 weekend.

Already a major supporter of New Zealand Motorsport, PTS Logistics has supported the sport via partnerships within the NZ V8 Utes category and top speedway events around the country.

The PTS Logistics fleet also moves cars and equipment for the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy and the Repco Supercars Championship when competing in New Zealand.

“Backing the Repco NextGen NZ Championship was an easy decision to make,” said PTS Logistics Director, Jack Miers.

“It’s a true national series and the growth in recent years makes it exactly where we want to be.”

The Season Opener, the first of six rounds this summer, has something for everyone from close one-make racing, V8’s, exotic GT and sports cars and much more.

The packed program includes the Bridgestone GR86 Championship, Summerset GT New Zealand Championship, SP Tools TA2 Championship, Nexen Tyre Mazda Racing Super Series, NZ Porsche Racing Championship and GTR NZ – the latter split into their two regular groups (GTRNZ 1/2 and GTRNZ 3/4).

Fans will continue to have unparalleled access to the stars and cars of the Repco NextGen NZ Championship this season, starting with Free Fridays thanks to Crème Insurance, where public access comes at zero cost.

Public pit lane walks will be available on both days, while driver signing sessions (on Sunday) and podium celebrations for all categories will feature throughout the weekend.

Grid walks – on Saturday for SP Tools TA2 New Zealand and then for the final Summerset GTNZ race on Sunday – will allow fans to access the circuit itself just moments before the races commence.

All elements are included within the price of a General Admission ticket to every round of the Repco NextGen NZ Championship.

Free Friday thanks to Crème Insurance will see practice for all categories followed by Qualifying for Summerset GT New Zealand later in the afternoon.

Saturday opens with key qualifying sessions, before racing commences with the GTNZ opener and sprint races for Bridgestone GR86, TA2NZ, Porsche Racing and the two GTRNZ categories.

They’re followed by a 45-minute GTNZ Enduro to conclude the day.

Sunday features more action with sprint races for all categories and another GTNZ enduro with racing commencing at 9am and continuing through to just before 6pm local time that evening.

Tickets booked online begin with Saturday access at just $42.00 and Sunday at $62.00, while a two-day weekend ticket is just $85.00. Tickets purchased online prior to the event are more affordable than at the gate.

Kids 16 and under are admitted free.

More information regarding the PTS Logistics Season Opener and the Repco NextGen NZ Championship, including broadcast details and entry lists, will be announced closer to the event.
