Promotors at Speed Works Events have confirmed a new broadcasting deal with Spark Sport, which sees the relatively new streaming service further bolster its offering for motorsport fans.

Starting from next weekend’s New Zealand Grand Prix event at Hampton Downs, the deal sees a series of Speed Works’ largest meetings broadcast live to loungerooms around the country.

Categories like the Napa Central Muscle Cars, BNT V8s, Hi-Q Components Formula First, and Best Bars Toyota 86 Championship will receive live coverage throughout their respective seasons as a result.

This sits alongside the forms of motorsport already held by Spark Sport, including Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, the World Rally Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup, and more. Three’s Sunday afternoon CRC Motorsport show has been retained as Speed Works Events’ free-to-air partner, and will broadcast subsequent highlights packages.

“We’re very excited to confirm this partnership,” said Speed Works’ Geoff Short.

“With numbers of fans watching major sporting events streamed to devices growing dramatically we wanted premium New Zealand motorsport to be part of that innovative and inevitable future.”

“Our goal at Spark Sport is to carry the best of local and international sports content in each sporting genre so we are enormously proud to be able to bring to NZ viewers live coverage of the NZ Grand Prix and the Speed Works Motorsport Championship event at Manfeild,” added Head of Spark Sport Jeff Latch.

Next weekend’s New Zealand Grand Prix will feature a selection of past and present motorsport stars (Shane van Gisbergen, Chris van der Drift, Greg Murphy, Andre Heimgartner, and Kenny Smith included) battling against the next generation (including Joshua Bethune, Matthew Payne, and Billy Frazer).

Great news, easy to stream it thru my home broadband as well as on my phone.
Now all we need is Sky and SparK Sport to hold hands over the Supercars coverage and we are covered

Will the NZGP be available to be viewed via Youtube or something outside of NZ? Us in the US would like to know. Thanks.
