Igor Fraga is set to join the Red Bull Junior programme.
The news comes after Fraga claimed this season’s Castrol Toyota Racing Series title before securing an FIA Formula 3 seat with Charouz in February.
Speaking about today’s news on Instagram, he said: “[I’m] very happy and honoured to join the Red Bull Junior Team! I’m very thankful for the chance and I will make sure to make most of it.
“I have a dream that I carry since when I was very little: to be F1 world champion.”
The 21-year-old initially made a name for himself in the virtual world of sim-racing.
Fraga made the inaugural F1 E-sports competition as well as winning the FIA Gran Turismo Nations Cup and Manufacturer Series in 2018 and 2019.
On the track, Fraga finished third in the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship before winning this year’s TRS title.
Fraga joins the likes of TRS rival Liam Lawson, former NZ Grand Prix winner and F2 rookie Jehan Daruvala and Team Mugen’s Super Formula racer Juri Vips in the Red Bull junior programme.
The programme has drafted some of Formula One’s most accomplished drivers, namely four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel and eight-time Grand Prix winner Max Verstappen.
